Film Review: Halloween (2018)

Throughout 2018 there was a lot of hype around this film, some saying viewers passed out because of the scariness of it. The film follows the original character Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) as Michael Myers younger sister, who was a baby at the time of Myers first kill. The film shows her older and afraid of him, knowing that someday he will escape again and come for her, she lives far away from civilisation and has her house booby-trapped for the occasion to occur.

To be completely honest, i was disappointed with the film, the storyline was the exact same as the original film, where Myers escapes from the institution and comes after Strode. Was incredibly predictable with jump scares and every kill, was your typical slasher film. There were also moments of hilarity with comical characters who lightened the mood, which took away the scary vibe.

Overall i prefer the original, as i feel the same about other classic horrors, when films are remade it kind of kills the original film (no pun intended).
